Spiritual care for the soul

“The soul is a timeless, feathered thing that flies in more worlds than one.”

What we offer

Individual Spiritual Support

Personal one-to-one soul care between you and a Spiritual Support Counsellor. These sessions can be spent talking, exploring shared practice, listening deeply and searching through soulful material for insight and inspiration to help you move through your inner life. We offer virtual, in-person and walk-and-talk options. Meet our team here.

Group Circles

Our group circles, known in the Celtic tradition as the practice of kinship (“càirdeas”) will explore sacred space, sources of creativity and healing, personal sharing, silence and meditative practice, songs, and inspired texts and readings. Virtual and in-person circles are available. See our group circle events here.

Peer Support & Seminars

We offer seminars for clinicians and practitioners who are seeking to expand their skills in discerning spiritual health challenges that may present in clinical practice. These sessions include case studies illuminating the spiritual dimensions and presenting symptoms of spiritual issues as well as effective treatment approaches currently being used in soul-oriented wisdom traditions. See our listings here.

What is Spiritual Support Counselling?

Spiritual Support Counselling is a way of providing personal spiritual care to the soul. This style of companionship is known in the Celtic world as “Anam áire”, an Irish term that means “soul care.” Traditionally, it helped to address issues of spiritual and emotional health, draw forth creativity and imagination, and create a deeper sense of connection, mysticism and authenticity.

Caring for the soul requires deep personal experience, mysticism and a strong relationship with the soul-level of being. Soul carers were especially important at end-of-life but were also known for companioning with people along their unique journey of inner life.

Nurturing the soul enriches our communities with a cultural warmth and vibrancy that is so desperately needed. Soul care is experienced as a deep spiritual friendship that offers us a way to heal, grow and befriend every area of our lives.

Our way

We aim to revive an ancient form of spiritual care known to the Celtic world as “Anam áire”, translated from Irish as “soul care.” Individuals who provide soul care can sometimes be called an “Anam Cara”, meaning soul friend. They have journeyed along the path of the soul to heal, renew, learn and grow and now choose to befriend and care for the souls of others. These faithful friends demonstrate wisdom, virtuous ways of being, good relationship with the natural world, and soulful, tender hearts.

Our way is the way of the soul. We companion with people to bring forth deep friendship, guidance and support on the path towards authenticity, creativity and beauty in the heart.
